Tour of Oplontis
Have you ever heard about this place?
It corresponds to the modern day town of Torre Annunziata, a few miles from Pompei. Oplontis was one of the five places affected by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D.
Less known and less popular than Pompei, but really worth visiting especially because of a luxurious villa, which is supposed to have belonged to Poppea Sabina, the second wife of the famous roman emperor Nero.
The walls of the building are still decorated with lavish and wonderful paintings that will leave you speechless! You’ll be surprised to see how well these frescoes are preserved.
If you have already seen Pompei and Herculaneum, don’t miss the chance to discover this other hidden gem. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!
